Mr. Tawfiq Kawar is chairman emeritus of Kawar Group of Companies. Mr. Kawar is a pioneer and leader of the Jordanian private sector across many fields and left his stellar mark on the country’s healthcare, shipping, logistics and transportation industries. Mr. Kawar has been recognized by six soverign nations for his lifetime contributions.
Mr. Kawar has served as a board member of various companies including: Aqaba Port Corporation, Jordan Phosphate Mines Co., Jordan Chemical Industries Co., Jordan National Shipping Lines, Jordan University Hospital, Shipping Agents Association-Jordan, Central Bank of Jordan, Amman Chamber of Commerce, Ahli Bank, United Insurance, JWICO, and General Investment Company.
Mr. Kawar is the Founder and former chairman of the Multiport Ship Agencies Network (MSAN) based in London (1982-1985 & again 1995-1996). MSAN is an international Club consisting of 171 leading ship agents across 1,500 ports. Mr. Kawar was a former member of the ICC / Commission on Maritime and on Transport and Logistics based in Paris, since 1988, and the International Maritime Bureau based in London since 1990. Mr. Kawar received the distinction of the Rotary International Fifty Year Membership Award.
